| MTD is continuing the
development of this transportation, warehousing, processing, and
distribution hub complimenting the growth of Mounds, Illinois, Industrial
Park. Located in a designated Federal Empowerment Zone (SIDEZ-Southern
Illinois Development Empowerment Zone) as well as a soon to be Foreign
Trade Zone, Mounds is a strategic NAFTA location easily serving the
central US Interstate Highway network, the CN Railroad, and is less than
two miles from the Ohio River and connected by a rail spur. Aside
from the existing facility installations, we have over fifty acres of
adjoining property that is flat and has been cleared for future
development.
Facility operations already include
warehousing, transloading, plastic recycling, truck weighing for inbound
and outbound freight, truck shipping and rail shipping. Each of the
three warehouses are free span metal design with concrete floors and each
about the size of a football field. Aside from packaged materials
(sacks, drums, pallets, gaylords, drums, etc.) this site offers sufficient
land, track and internal roads to handle bulk storage and shipping of
mineral aggregates. |
